Muhammad helps Binghamton halt skid, tops Stony Brook 69-57 (Feb 15, 2018)

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) Fard Muhammad scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Binghamton snap its seven-game losing streak by beating Stony Brook 69-57 in an America East battle Thursday night.

The Bearcats ended their streak by beating the team that started it in January. Stony Brook leads the all-time series, 24-17.

Binghamton led by 13 when Thomas Bruce hit a jumper to make it 58-45 with 3:42 left. The Seawolves got the deficit to single digits briefly, but the Bearcats closed the game out by going 8-for-8 from the line in the final two minutes.

Muhammad hit 5 of 8 from distance and Binghamton (11-16, 2-10) struggled from the field, hitting 21 of 54 overall, including 9 of 25 from 3-point range. Everson Davis had 15 points, Bruce added 10 points and Willie Rodriguez grabbed 10 boards.

Stony Brook (10-17, 5-8) came into the game following back-to-back wins. Akwasi Yeboah had his second straight double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Junior Saintel added 13 points and Jaron Cornish 12.
