The 2016-17 USA Today coaches preseason poll was released for NCAA basketball fans on Thursday.

With just 21 days until tip-off, the season is inching closer and closer by the minute.

But first, preseason rankings and awards continue to fill the college hoops headlines.

On Thursday, USA Today released their coaches preseason poll, with the Duke Blue Devils on top of the rankings.

The rest of the top five is rounded out by Kansas, Villanova, Kentucky and Oregon.

These rankings are obviously subject to a weekly change, but it’s always interesting to look back at the preseason poll.

There are teams that will lurk around the top-10 for the majority of the season, teams that will remain in the top-five and others that will bounce around as they search for consistency. The parity in college basketball is unmatched.
