Ndiaye leads UC Irvine to 73-63 win over Utah State

LOGAN, Utah (AP) Mamadou Ndiaye, who finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds, slammed home two dunks and added a free throw in the closing minutes to help UC Irvine beat Utah State 73-63 on Saturday night.

Alex Young, who had 20 points, and Luke Nelson, who chipped in 15, made free throws down the stretch to seal the win. Young made 8 of 13 field goal attempts and had four assists for UC Irvine (7-3).

Ndiaye, who was 7 of 8 from the floor, had four blocked shots.

The Anteaters led 28-23 at the break and never trailed in the second half. Utah State's Julion Pearre nailed a 3-pointer to start a 13-0 run as the Aggies closed to 60-56 with 4:04 left. Ndiaye answered with a dunk and Young made a layup.

Darius Perkins led Utah State (5-3) with 17 points and Pearre added 15.
