Kendall Williams scored 14 points and Jamal Fenton had 13 as New Mexico ran its winning streak to 13 games with a 72-62 victory over Wyoming on Saturday in the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams.

New Mexico (15-2, 1-0 Mountain West) used a 17-2 second-half surge to put the game away, including two 3-pointers by Philip McDonald.

Francisco Cruz had 22, Leonard Washington 15 and Luke Martinez 11 for Wyoming (14-3, 0-1), which lost for the first time in 12 home games.

Martinez's 3-pointer with 14:37 remaining tied it at 44, but Drew Gordon's 15-footer on the ensuing possession started New Mexico's big roll. Chad Adams had a steal and fed Fenton for a layup to put the Lobos up 61-46 with 5:05 left and Wyoming would get no closer than seven after that.
