North Dakota needs OT to top Northern Colorado, 84-81 (Feb 25, 2017)

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) Cortez Seales scored seven of his 23 points in overtime as North Dakota held on to beat Northern Colorado 84-81 to hold onto first place in the Big Sky Conference Saturday night.

The victory keeps the Fighting Hawks (18-8, 13-3) one game ahead of second-place Eastern Washington with two games left in the regular season.

Kai Edwards hit two free throws and Jordan Davis knocked down a jumper to give the Bears the lead, 76-72. Geno Crandall and Seales each hit two free throws to tie the score with 3:01 left and Seales put the Fighting Hawks in front with a jumper with just under two minutes left. D.J. Miles gave Northern Colorado the lead, 79-78 with two free throws but Seales put North Dakota in front for good with a jumper with :50 left.

Davis hit two free throws with :41 left to pull Northern Colorado into a 72-72 tie. Neither team scored again in regulation and the game went to overtime.

Davis finished with 30 points to lead Northern Colorado (9-18, 5-11).
