Notre Dame guard's brother comes home early from Afghanistan to surprise him at game

Following Notre Dame's 77-62 victory on Monday over the Colgate Raiders, guard Matt Farrell rightfully celebrated the team's win and his 13-point, 7-assist performance.

He had no clue, however, what was coming next — his teammates directed him to the arena's scoreboard where a special message awaited him from his brother, Bo, who was recently deployed by the U.S. military in Afghanistan. Awesome, right?

Bo Farrell — who hadn't seen his younger brother since May and wasn't supposed to be home until February, according to NDInsider.com — spent seven months in Afghanistan and had been planning the surprise for months. Only their grandmother knew the secret in the family. Notre Dame coach Mike Brey and his staff had plotted the surprise for six weeks.

"We don't ask for much for Christmas, so this is the best present I've ever gotten," Matt said after, according to the AP.

These never get old. Awesome work, Notre Dame.
