Pac-12 Picks Oregon Basketball as Favorite to Win Conference
Days away from the opening tip-off to the 2016-17 Basketball Season, the Pac-12 Conference hosted the annual Media Day last week, picking the Oregon Ducks as the favorite to win the conference in perhaps a not-so-surprising fashion.
For the first time ever, the Pac-12 Conference picked the Oregon Ducks as the conference favorite. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Keep in mind, this is the same team that returns four of five starters from last years’ squad. That team, of course, won both the regular season, as well as the conference tournament championship.

In addition to the returning starters, Oregon also adds a myriad of talented players in their 2016 recruiting class, including Payton Pritchard who ranks in the Top 100 according to ESPN.
The Ducks collected 23 out of a potential 27 votes from the media members who cover the conference. Arizona had collected the remaining four votes, finishing in second place.
It is worth noting, the media has correctly picked the Conference winner in 14 of 24 tries.
UCLA who also returns four starters, and add a handful of Top 100 players, the Bruins are predicted to finish third, with Cal and Washington just nearly behind them in fourth and fifth place respectively.
USC, Utah, Oregon State, Stanford, ASU and WSU completed the predicted order of finish.
