Patrell Rogers' buzzer 3 lifts SC State over Delaware State (Jan 06, 2018)

DOVER, Del. (AP) Patrell Rogers hit the game-winning 3 as time expired on Saturday night and South Carolina State edged Delaware State 63-60 for the Bulldogs' first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season.

Ozante Fields' dunk with 3:06 left gave the Bulldogs (5-12, 1-1) a 60-56 lead. Kavon Waller pulled the Hornets (2-15, 0-2) within two on a layup with 47 seconds to go and Marquis Collins tied it with a pair of foul shots with 14 seconds left.

Delaware State had the largest lead of the second half at 42-36 and South Carolina State erased it with five straight. Neither team led by more than four the rest of the way.

James Richardson had 12 points, Fields added 10 and Rogers had eight for the Bulldogs.

Simon Okolue had 16 points to lead the Hornets. Delaware State was 1 of 17 from 3-point range.
