STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) Penn State has extended coach Pat Chambers' contract through the 2021-22 season.

The Penn State board of trustees' compensation approved the extension on Thursday. Terms of deal will be made public once it's finalized.

Chambers led the Nittany Lions to 26 wins, the second-highest total in program history, and the 2018 NIT title. Penn State also won 11 road and neutral-court games and beat nationally ranked Ohio State three times.

Athletic director Sandy Barbour says that Chambers ''has demonstrated tremendous vision and determination in building a strong foundation'' for the program.
