Pepperdine beats CS Northridge 70-55 for first road win

LOS ANGELES (AP) Lamond Murray Jr. scored 21 points and Pepperdine pulled away early in the second half to beat Cal State Northridge 70-55 on Saturday night.

Murray was 10 of 17 from the field. Amadi Udenyi added nine points and five assists for Pepperdine (4-4), which won its first road game.

Micheal Warren scored 13 points on 6-of-15 shooting for Cal State Northridge (2-6). Olalekan Ajayi had eight points and 14 rebounds.

The Matadors' Landon Drew hit a 3-pointer and Warren made a layup to tie it at 32-all with 2:21 left in the first half. Udenyi scored four of the Waves' next eight points to build a 40-32 halftime lead.

Murray scored four points, sparking an 11-6 spurt to stretch the Waves' lead to 51-38 with 14:32 remaining. Both teams then went cold, with Pepperdine's A.J. John scoring a layup for the only points during a 5:24 span.
