Pevy-led onslaught sends Mercer past Piedmont 105-52.

ATLANTA (AP) — DJ Pevy led seven players in double figures with 16 points and Mercer beat Division III Piedmont 105-52 on Friday night.

Ross Cummings added 14 points, Ethan Stair scored 12 and Cory Kilby, Jaylen Stowe, Djordje Dimitrijevic and Fardaws Aimaq each scored 10 for Mercer (1-1).

Stair made a 3-pointer and Aimaq had back-to-back layups for a 7-0 run and the Bears led 22-10 with 12:44 to play in the first half. Mercer outscored the Lions 33-14 the rest of the half shooting 54.5 including 7 of 14 from 3-point range.

Will Richter scored 11 points for Piedmont which shot 31.3 percent from the floor.

Mercer has a 9-1 series lead between the two schools who began playing each other in the 1946-47 season. It was their first game since Nov. 14, 2014. Mercer won 88-48.
