Princeton earns share of Ivy title in 75-60 win over Cornell (Feb 25, 2017)
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) Devin Cannady scored 26 points and Myles Stephens added 17 points and Princeton remained unbeaten in Ivy League play with a 75-60 win over Cornell on Saturday to clinch at least a share of its 27th league title.
Princeton (19-6) is 12-0 in the Ivy League for the first time since 1998 when it went 14-0, and now has a 15-game winning streak, its longest since the '98 season when it won 20 in a row.
The Tigers led 35-34 at the break, and the game remained close when Matt Morgan buried a 3 for Cornell and the Tigers led 51-50. But Steven Cook made a pair of free throws and Amir Bell hit a 3 to start an 11-0 run and Princeton controlled from there.
Cook finished with 14 points and he, Cannady and Stephens combined to shoot 22 for 34 from the floor for Princeton.
Morgan added a jumper to bring the Big Red (7-20, 3-9) within 64-58 with 4:11 left but they couldn't get closer.
Robert Hatter scored 18 points and Morgan scored 14 with four 3-pointers.
