Purdue's Caleb Swanigan reportedly cleared by NCAA

Published Oct. 30, 2015 6:20 p.m. ET

Purdue's week ended on a high note, as head coach Matt Painter told Jeff Goodman of ESPN that Caleb Swanigan had been cleared by the NCAA.

On Monday, reports surfaced that Swanigan, a consensus five-star recruit in the Class of 2015, had not yet been cleared to play this season. The NCAA's investigation centers around Swanigan and his adopted father, Roosevelt Barnes, a sports agent in Indiana.

Swanigan will be an integral part to one of the best frontlines in the country, as it returns A.J. Hammons, Isaac Haas and Vince Edwards.
