Rayman's double-double leads Colgate past Army 76-56
HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Will Rayman scored a season-high 23 points and tied his career-best with 12 rebounds to help Colgate beat Army 76-56 on Wednesday night in the 125th meeting between the programs.
The Raiders improved to 63-62 against Army.
Jack Ferguson scored 13 points and Tucker Richardson added 11 with five assists and two steals for the Raiders (13-9, 5-4 Patriot League). Rayman was 8-of-13 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range.
Rayman had 15 points in the first nine minutes as Colgate jumped to a 19-8 lead and never trailed. Army used a 12-4 run to trim its deficit to one with a minute left in the first half but the Raiders scored 22 of the next 28 points, capped by a 12-0 run, to make it 52-35 with 12:58 left and led by double figures the rest of the way.
Tommy Funk led Army (11-11, 6-3) with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting. The rest of the Black Knights made just 12 of 39 (31 percent) from the field.
Colgate shot a season-high 55.6 percent (30 of 54).
