Records fall in Utah Valley's 106-44 win over Bethesda (Dec 14, 2017)

OREM, Utah (AP) Jake Toolson tossed in 19 points and Zach Nelson hit all seven of his shots, including three 3-pointers, and scored 18 to power Utah Valley to a record-setting 106-44 victory over Bethesda University on Thursday night.

Conner Toolson added 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while Akolda Manyang chipped in with 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots for the Wolverines (7-4). Nelson had scored just nine points on the season before helping Utah Valley shoot 57 percent (44 of 77) from the floor against the Flames of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Utah Valley set a school record with 43 made field goals. The Wolverines shattered their assist record with 35 - six more than their previous high - and posted their third-largest margin of victory in setting a UCCU Center record point total.

Nelson had a 3-point play and a 3-pointer to spark an 18-0 run and Utah Valley turned a four-point lead into a 27-5 advantage. Nelson had two layups in an 8-0 run and the Wolverines closed out the first half up 45-23. Utah Valley used a 16-0 spurt early in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Reserve Shaquille Moore paced the Flames with 12 points, while Jordan Lopez scored 11.
