Report: Date for Syracuse-St. John's basketball game set for Madison Square Garden

Syracuse will meet former Big East basketball rival St. John's in December in a battle of schools from the Empire State.

The game continues a series with the  Red Storm, and this year it will feature an interesting element. John's hired former star Chris Mullin last March as its new head coach after parting ways with Steve Lavin. Mullin has really put his footprints on the program in a short amount of time, snaring skilled point guard Marcus LoVett, Jr. yesterday.

Things are looking up for the Johnnies, and they could be closing the gap between them and the Orange.
