Rider rallies in second half for 82-76 win over Manhattan (Jan 07, 2018)
NEW YORK (AP) Tyere Marshall and Frederick Scott combined for 39 points and 27 rebounds to lead Rider past Manhattan for an 82-76 win Sunday night.
Rider (10-6, 3-1 Metro Atlantic) trailed most of the second half but got a 3-point play from Marshall to spark a 15-5 rally over the final four minutes of the game to win it. Scott dropped in the go-ahead layup, 72-71 with 3:16 to go, and later slammed in a dunk with 38 seconds left as Manhattan was held to a single field goal in the run.
Marshall finished with 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Scott was 9 for 13 from the field for 19 points and 14 rebounds, the fifth double-double of the season for both. Dimencio Vaughn added 14 points and Anthony Durham had 10 for Rider, which shot 53 percent from the field and got 20 assists on its 35 baskets.
Thomas Capuano led Manhattan (7-9, 2-2) with 17 points, Zavier Turner added 16 points while grabbing nine rebounds, and Zane Waterman and Rich Williams both had 14 points.
