Roadrunners race to 91-61 blowout of Cougars (Feb 01, 2018)

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Damiyne Durham scored 18 points, Ricky Holden had 17 and Jarkel Joiner added 14 as CSU Bakersfield blew out Chicago State 91-61 on Thursday night.

Five Roadrunners (9-13, 1-5 Western Athletic Conference) reached double-digits, as Shon Briggs and Justin Davis each added 11 points.

CSU Bakersfield opened with a 7-0 run and the Cougars (2-22, 0-7) never led. An 11-0 run later put the Roadrunners up 26-10, and they led 45-30 at halftime.

Chicago State closed to within nine midway through the second half, but the ensuing 30-8 CSU Bakersfield run gave the Roadrunners a 31-point lead, their largest of the night. Six Cougar turnovers aided the run, as Chicago State turned the ball over 17 times on the night, leading to 24 points for the Roadrunners.

CSU Bakersfield controlled the inside, outrebounding the Cougars 41-35 and outscoring them 44-24 in the paint.
