NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Jeff Roberson scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and the Vanderbilt Commodores beat Alabama 71-63 Saturday for their second straight victory.

The Commodores (10-7, 2-3) desperately needed these games at home after opening their Southeastern Conference schedule 0-3, and they responded by winning back-to-back games for the first time since November. They won't have consecutive games at Memorial Gym again until the end of February.

Riley LaChance scored a season-high 18 points, hitting a career-best 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Damian Jones added 13 for Vanderbilt.
