Robertson boosts Canisius to 91-58 runaway win over Marist (Jan 14, 2017)
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Kassius Robertson scored a career-high 30 points, shooting 9 for 10 from 3-point range, and Canisius ran away from Marist in the second half for a 91-58 win on Saturday.
Robertson entered the game needing 18 points to reach 1,000 during his Canisius career. His nine 3s were also a career high.
Marist tied it at 43 on a 3-point play by Brian Parker with 16:22 remaining. Canisius extended the lead to 61-53, and with 8:53 to go, went on a 19-0 run breaking away from the Red Foxes. In a stretch of nearly eight minutes, Canisius outscored Marist 28-3.
Canisius (12-6, 4-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic) had an 18-0 edge in fast-break points and a 21-9 margin in second-chance points.
Phil Valenti scored 19 points, Isaiah Reese had 14, and Jermaine Crumpton had 13 for Canisius.
Marist (5-13, 2-5) committed 14 turnovers and was led by Khallid Hart's 15 points and Parker's 11.
