Robinson's 27 lead Monmouth to 96-90 win over Princeton (Dec 20, 2016)

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) Justin Robinson scored 23 of his 27 points in the second half and had seven assists, Je'lon Hornbeak had his first double-double and Monmouth held off Princeton 96-90 for its school record ninth-straight win on Tuesday night.

Hornbeak had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Austin Tilgham added a career-high 18 off the bench, 12 in the second when the Hawks (10-2) shot 58 percent (19 of 33). Monmouth, off to its best start in history, hit 7 of 11 3-pointers after the break with Hornbeak and Robinson going a combined 7 for 10.

Princeton (4-6) opened a 13-point lead before Monmouth charged back to take a 39-38 halftime lead. The Tigers led by eight before Monmouth reeled off 16 straight, 10 by Robinson and six from Hornbeak as they combined for four 3s for a 76-68 lead with 4:38 to play.

Robinson scored six points and Tilgham had four in the last 1:09 to hold off the Tigers.

Steven Cook had 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting and Devin Cannady added a career-high 26 with eight rebounds for Princeton.
