Robinson's late 3 helps Portland St. pull away from Portland (Dec 20, 2016)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Calaen Robinson scored 13 points and made a key 3-pointer late and Portland State held off Portland 77-75 on Tuesday night.

Portland used a 21-7 run to take its first lead of the game, 67-65 with 4:25 to play. Gabe Taylor made a 3 and a layup to stretch the Pilots' lead to 72-69.

Zach Gengler's 3-pointer tied it 72-72 before Robinson hit the go-ahead 3-point shot with 21 seconds to play. Gengler then forced a turnover and made a pair of free throws with five seconds left to seal it for Portland State (6-4), of the Big Sky Conference.

De'Sean Parsons had 15 points and five assists for the Vikings. Bryce Canda added 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Taylor scored 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting to lead West Coast Conference Portland (7-4). Alec Wintering hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer and finished with 18 points.
