Rodney Bullock records double-double in Providence's exhibition win
After two years, Rodney Bullock finally made an appearance in a Providence uniform, recording a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds in the Friars' 92-76 exhibition win over Division II Stonehill College on Saturday night.
Bullock, the 6-foot-7 forward, missed the first two years due to suspension and an ACL tear he suffered in October 2014.
Kris Dunn, the Big East Preseason Player of the Year, also ended with a double-double, scoring 15 assists and dishing out 12 assists to just two turnovers. Ben Bentil posted 15 points, while freshman Ryan Fazekas added 10 points off the bench.
Here's what head coach Ed Cooley had to say about Bullock's play, via Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal:
“I’ve been a big believer in Rodney from day one,” Cooley said. “He can score the ball multiple ways and he was comfortable out there. I hope he can continue to improve, but he’s got to get in better shape.”
Providence opens the season on Nov. 14 against Harvard.
