Roman Catholic's Carr, prime recruit, picks Penn State

Roman Catholic's Tony Carr, a dynamic senior point guard and four-star recruit, is committed to play at Penn State.

Roman classmate Nazeer Bostick, a 6-foot-4 wing guard and three-star recruit, committed to head coach Pat Chambers and the Nittany Lions in April. Former Cahillites teammate Shep Garner started 33 games as a freshman for Penn State last season.

Carr, however, seems to be the best of the Roman Catholic bunch. He is a terrific ball-handler and penetrator, and averaged 12.8 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 steals while sparking the Cahillites to a 29-2 mark and their first PIAA Class AAAA state championship last season.

The 6-4, 200-pound Carr chose the Nittany Lions over fellow finalists Maryland, Providence, Southern Methodist, and Temple. He said he made his decision toward the end of last week.
