Ross hits late jumper, Hartford beats Dartmouth 70-66 (Dec 13, 2016)

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Jalen Ross scored the final two of his 27 points on a late jumper and added two free throws as Hartford charged back to beat Dartmouth 70-66 on Tuesday night.

Guilien Smith drilled a 3-pointer with 1:04 left to give Dartmouth a 65-64 lead. Ross answered with his jumper with 43 seconds remaining, and J.R. Lynch and Ross each added two free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.

Ross earned his sixth 20-point game this season by shooting 11 of 18 from the floor and added five assists. Lynch added 10 points for Hartford (4-8), which has won three of its last four.

Dartmouth remains winless (0-9) after holding a 31-27 lead at the break. The Big Green trailed 50-45 midway through the second period. A Smith jumper gave Dartmouth a 58-55 lead at the 4:01 mark.

Evan Boudreaux led Dartmouth with 23 points.
