Roy Williams expects Kennedy Meeks to return vs. Syracuse
Jim Boeheim may not be the only one making his return this weekend.
North Carolina head coach Roy Williams said junior big man Kennedy Meeks could be back on the floor against Syracuse on Saturday night, according to Myron Metcalf of ESPN.com.
"Today he'll go through the full practice, and if he goes through the full practice, I'll be able to play him," Williams said. "It just depends on how effective he'll be when he gets there."
Meeks has missed the last seven games due to a bone bruise in his left knee.
One Tar Heel who wouldn't mind see Meeks miss another game? Brice Johnson.
The senior forward has been on a tear with Meeks on the sidelines. Since Meeks has been out, the 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 21 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. He is coming off a 39-point, 23-board performance in a win over Florida State.
In nine games this season, Meeks is averaging 12.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
