Saint Joseph's beats Maryland-Eastern Shore 78-68

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Isaiah Miles scored 17 points, DeAndre Bembry added 15 with nine rebounds, and Saint Joseph's beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 78-68 Tuesday night

The Hawks have won six in a row, their longest streak since winning six straight in February 2014. Saint Joseph's (10-2) starts the Atlantic 10 Conference season on Jan. 2 at Richmond.?

Leading 36-33 at halftime, Pierfrancesco Oliva hit a 3-pointer and Shavar Newkirk added two more amid a 13-7 run that put the Hawks up 44-36. St. Joe's never trailed after the break. Devin Martin pulled Maryland-Eastern Shore within 73-68 with a 3-pointer with 1:29 to go, but the Hawks scored five unanswered points to seal it.

James Demery scored 11 points and Newkirk had two steals for Saint Joseph's, which made 19 of 27 free throws and outrebounded Maryland-Eastern shore 43-36.

Martin led Maryland-Eastern Shore (3-11) with 23 points, Domique Elliott added 16, Ryan Andino had 14, and Bakari Copeland 11.
