San Jose St. tops Life Pacific 128-66 in record-setting win
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Cody Schwartz scored a career-high 20 points and seven players reached double figures as San Jose State defeated Life Pacific of the NCCAA, 128-66 on Tuesday.
The game set several records for the Spartans (5-7). They scored 66 points by halftime - a record for points in a half - and smashed the record for points in a game that had stood for a half-century. The previous mark was set in 1966 with 114 points against Idaho State. They also eclipsed UNLV's 124 for most points scored by a Mountain West Conference team.
Brandon Clarke scored 18 points, Gary Williams 17, Ryan Welage 15 - with 11 boards - Jacyee Hillsman scored 14 and Frank Rogers and Ivo Basor 13 each.
The Spartans shot 58 percent from the field, collared 50 rebounds, made 28 assists and 14 steals.
Life Pacific surrendered 100 points to an opponent for the third time this season.
