San Jose State clips Wyoming, 62-55

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Gary Williams Jr. scored 18 points, including six-straight free throws down the stretch, to help San Jose State beat Wyoming 62-55 on Wednesday night.

A Josh Adams layup for Wyoming cut the San Jose State lead to 56-55 with 2:26 left. But that was the final basket of the night for the Cowboys, as Williams went 6 for 6 at the free throw line in the final 1:27 to clinch the victory for the Spartans (6-11, 1-4 Mountain West).

Ryan Welage had 13 points and Frank Rogers finished with 11, and Brandon Clarke had 10 points for San Jose State, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Alan Herndon led Wyoming with 14 points. Jason McManamen had 13 for the Cowboys (9-9, 2-3), who finished 0-2 from the field with two turnovers down the stretch.
