SC State keeps NC A&T winless in Division I this season (Feb 13, 2017)

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Eric Eaves made four 3-pointers and scored 20 points, Tashombe Riley added 16 points, and South Carolina State beat North Carolina A&T 72-65 on Monday night.

SC State led by 10 points with 13 minutes left but NC A&T rallied.

Sam Hunt hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds left to pull the Aggies to 68-65 but Riley made it a two-possession lead on the other end with two free throws. Hunt missed a 3 and Janai Raynor Powell added two more free throws to seal it.

Ed Stephens added nine points on three 3-pointers for SC State (8-17, 5-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), which snapped a three-game skid.

James Whitaker had 16 points and 10 rebounds for NC A&T (2-24, 0-11), which hasn't beaten a Division I opponent this season. Aaron Scales added 14 points, Davaris McGowens 12, and Hunt 10.
