Seattle University clips Eastern Washington, 61-52

SEATTLE (AP) Jack Crook scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead Seattle University to a 61-52 win over Eastern Washington on Monday night.

After Eastern Washington's Bogdan Bliznyuk drilled a three-pointer to tie the game at 52 with 2:57 left the Redhawks (1-3) stepped on the gas, closing out the game on a 9-0 run to seal the win.

Crook scored the first four points, completing a 3-pointer followed by a 1 out of 2 trip to the free throw line. Aaron Menzies hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds left and Malik Montoya added the exclamation point with a layup 12 seconds later.

Menzies, along with Brendan Westendorf, William Powell, and Jadon Cohee each had 10 points for Seattle.

Venky Jois led Eastern Washington (2-2) with 14 points and eight rebounds.

This was the second meeting in five days between the schools. Eastern Washington beat Seattle 76-70 on Wednesday.
