South Carolina St downs North Carolina Central 102-79 (Feb 24, 2018)

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) Donte Wright scored 29 points with seven 3-pointers, James Richardson scored 19, and South Carolina State hit 13 3s in beating sixth-place North Carolina Central 102-79 on Saturday to end a two-game skid.

Janai Rayner-Powell added 13 points and Ian Kinard scored 12 points for the Bulldogs (10-19, 6-8), who entered the game eighth in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference standings and shot 58.3 percent from the field and 52 percent from long distance.

Rayner-Powell's layup put the Bulldogs up for good, 10-9, and they led 49-32 at halftime after holding the Eagles to 36.1 percent shooting from the field and 1 of 11 from 3-point range.

Rayshawn Neal's layup with 1:16 left gave the Bulldogs a 24-point lead.

Dominique Reid scored 15 points, Raasean Davis had 13, Larry McKnight Jr. 12 and Pablo Rivas 11 for the Eagles (14-14, 8-6), who saw their two-game win streak end.
