South Carolina State beats Morgan State 74-59 (Jan 29, 2018)
BALTIMORE (AP) Damani Applewhite had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Patrell Rogers added 15 points and nine rebounds with five assists and South Carolina State beat Morgan State 74-59 on Monday night.
James Richardson chipped in 10 points for South Carolina State (8-15, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). The Bulldogs made 47 percent of their shots and hit 17 of 25 free throws.
South Carolina State trailed 33-32 at the break but a breakaway dunk by Richardson gave the Bulldogs a 65-47 lead with less than five minutes to go. The Bears were outscored 42-26 after halftime.
Tiwian Kendley scored 21 points for Morgan State (8-13, 4-4). Phillip Carr had 10 points, on 4-of-15 shooting, and 12 rebounds and Martez Cameron added 11 points with five assists.
The Bears fell to 6-1 at home this season.
