St. Francis Brooklyn rallies late to beat Lafayette 69-62

EASTON, Pa. (AP) Tyreek Jewell scored 17 points and St. Francis Brooklyn pulled away late to beat Lafayette 69-62 on Wednesday night.

Jewell was 6 of 9 from the floor. Dagur Jonsson scored 15 points and Yunus Hopkinson added 10 for St. Francis Brooklyn (3-4). Amdy Fall chipped in eight points with 13 rebounds.

Nick Lindner scored 18 points to lead Lafayette (2-5). Matt Klinewski had 13 points, and Monty Boykins and Bryce Scott added 11 apiece.

The Leopards had a 12-0 run to take a five-point lead, and stretched it to 49-42 with 13 minutes left. Jonsson scored seven points during a Terriers 11-2 spurt to take a 55-53 lead midway through the second half. The Leopards regained the lead 59-55 with six minutes left.

It was tied at 61 with 2:23 to play. Jewell made a free throw and jumper to spark an 8-1 surge to seal it.
