Stanford G Marcus Allen out with foot injury

Published Oct. 13, 2015 9:20 a.m. ET

Stanford junior guard Marcus Allen will be out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his right foot, according to a report on Monday night from Tom FitzGerald of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Marcus Allen started 22 of 36 games for the Cardinal during the 2013-14 season, averaging 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per games. During Stanford's foreign trip in Italy this summer, Allen scored in double figures three times, ending the trip with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals in a win over Verona.

With the loss of Allen, sophomore point guard Robert Cartwright is the only guard on the roster to average more than 10 minutes per game last season.
