Stephen F. Austin rallies to beat Marist 64-60
NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) — Jock Hughes and Shannon Bogues combined for 14 points in the final three minutes as Stephen F. Austin came from behind to beat Marist 64-60 in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic on Tuesday night.
Marist led throughout and was up 57-43 with 3:39 remaining in the game. That was when the Lumberjacks (3-1) mounted their comeback, outscoring Marist 21-3 to take the victory.
SFA's Nathan Bain drove for a layup to start the run, and then Hughes and Bogues took over with Kevin Harris having a layup with two free throws in the final seconds.
Hughes nailed three 3-pointers in the final 2:36 to finish with 11 points. Bogues, who totaled 16 points with four steals, had three free throws and a 3 in the final minutes. SFA's Davonte Fitzgerald led all scorers with 18 points.
Isaiah Lamb had 15 points for Marist (1-3).
