Stephens helps Princeton get past Penn 72-64 in overtime (Mar 11, 2017)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Myles Stephens scored 21 points, including the tying tip-in in regulation and the first four points of overtime, to help send top seed Princeton past No. 4 seed Penn 72-64 on Saturday in the opener of the inaugural Ivy League Tournament.

The Tigers (22-6), who went undefeated in the Ivy regular season, won their 18th straight game and will play No. 3 seed Yale in Sunday's championship game.

After Penn's Matt Howard missed a front end of a one-on-one with 12 seconds left in regulation, Stephens' followed Amir Bell's missed layup to tie the game at 59 before Penn's Darnell Foreman missed a 3-pointer.

Stephens scored the first two baskets in 9-0 overtime run for the Tigers' first lead. The Quakers missed six straight shots, not scoring until Foreman's 3-pointer with 45 seconds left. Devin Cannady made six free throws in the final minute to ensure the win.

Stephens grabbed 10 rebounds while Cannady has 12 points and 11 rebounds and Bell 16 points for Princeton, which trailed by 10 in the second half.

Ryan Betley led Penn (13-15) with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Howard, the only Penn senior to see game time this season, added 17 points. AJ Brodeur had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Foreman 11 points.

The Tigers have won eight straight over the Quakers, including three this season.
