LOS ANGELES (AP) Elijah Stewart and Katin Reinhardt made the shots for Southern California. Jordan McLaughlin made their shots easy.
Stewart scored 27 points and Reinhardt 26 thanks to McLaughlin setting a school record with 16 assists as the Trojans defeated Lafayette 100-64 on Wednesday night for their sixth consecutive victory.
''The wing players were just running to the corners,'' said Stewart. ''We just had to set our feet and be ready to shoot.''
Stewart and Reinhardt combined to make 12 of 18 3-pointers.
The Trojans (11-2) shot 55 percent overall while eclipsing the 100-point mark for the third time this season, one game after shooting 37 percent in a 70-51 victory over SIU-Edwardsville.
''The guys were telling me in the huddle I needed a couple of more for the record,'' said McLaughlin, who also added 14 points for his first double-double of the season. He played all 40 minutes with the Trojans short-handed at the guard position.
''It's a credit to my team. They were the ones knocking down a lot of shots.''
Chimezie Netu added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Nikola Jovanovic chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds as five Trojans reached double figures in their most one-sided victory this season and final game before starting Pac-12 Conference play.
''I'm confident with the preseason we've had. We've played some challenging teams,'' said Southern Cal coach Andy Enfield. ''We have three Top 50 RPI victories. . The Pac-12 is the No. 1 RPI league in the country right now. When the season is over, we'll have played plenty of tough teams.''
Nick Lindner scored 18 to lead Lafayette (3-8), which lost for the sixth time in seven road games this season.
''Southern Cal does two things very well. They can score inside and they can score outside,'' said Lafayette coach Fran O'Hanlon. ''We tried to help out inside. We just didn't have the athletes to stay with them. I thought we did a pretty good job early until we started missing shots. Once we started missing they got out on transition and we just couldn't stop them.''
USC opened the second half with 11 straight points to push its lead to 56-37 on Netu's basket with 16:45 left in the game. Lafayette missed six consecutive shots during the Trojans run.
Southern Cal extended a 26-23 advantage to 43-29 on Stewart's second of consecutive 3-pointers with 2:41 left in the first half. Lafayette responded with eight straight points and USC's McLaughlin beat the halftime buzzer with a top-of-the-key jumper for a 45-37 lead.
For the third time in four games, Southern Cal played without junior guard Julian Jacobs, who has been slowed by tendinitis in his left Achilles. Guard Malik Marquetti was not feeling well, and could only play two minutes.
Brandon Granville previously held the Southern Cal mark for assists in a game of 15 set in 2000.

Lafayette: The Leopards went into the game averaging 71 points in road games vs. 82.5 points at home. ... The 2,738-mile journey from the Leopards' Kirby Sports Center to the Trojans' Galen Center was the longest road trip for Lafayette in three years. The trip was 144 miles shorter than Lafayette's trip to Stanford on Dec. 29, 2012. ... The Leopards, defending Patriot League champs, have been picked sixth in the league after losing three 1,000-point scorers to graduation - Seth Hinrichs, Joey Ptasinski and Dan Trist.
Southern Cal: The Trojans wrapped up their December schedule a perfect 6-0, their first perfect December since going 6-0 during the 1991-92 season. The Trojans open the Pacific-12 schedule by playing five of the first seven conference games on the road. The Trojans recorded 81 blocks in their first 12 games, ranking them No. 1 among Division I schools in total blocks through games of Dec. 21.
