SU Extends Offers To 2018 Four-Star Point Guards
SU Hoops continues its campaign for the 2018 recruiting class for the Syracuse men’s basketball team. Who are these guys? Neil Adler has the scoop.
While SU hoops searches for prospects to fill out next year’s class, the Orange is also quite keen on landing some talented 2018 recruits.
SU on Thursday offered a scholarship to Jahvon Quinerly, according to several media reports. The four-star Quinerly is a 6-1 point guard out of Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City, N.J.
The 247Sports Composite slots him No. 28 nationally in the 2018 class, as well as No. 5 at his position. Over at ESPN.com, Quinerly checks in at No. 38, and the 7th-best point guard.

top-notch programs, including Connecticut, Kansas, Maryland, St. John’s, Virginia and the defending national champions, Villanova.
Additionally, Syracuse has extended an offer to Eric Ayala, another 2018 four-star point guard, who revealed the news via his Twitter page late last month.
The 6-5 Ayala, a native of Hockessin, Del., is from the Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Conn., the same school attended by five-star shooting guard Hamidou Diallo, an Orange target in the 2017 class.
Ayala is listed at No. 83 overall by 247Sports, and No. 3 at the combo-guard position.
Similar to Quinerly, Ayala has a bunch of offers from teams like Arizona, Cincinnati, Maryland, Miami, Oklahoma State, St. John’s, Temple and UConn.
However, per a Nov. 26 article from 247Sports, Ayala may consider reclassifying to 2017 “for the right opportunity.”
That would prove key should he decide to join SU. As we’ve recently documented, Syracuse clearly needs a point guard for next year’s class.
Graduate transfer John Gillon will have moved on, and the Orange has missed out on several high-profile recruits, including Kentucky-bound Quade Green.
