Texas A&M-CC outlasts Austin Peay 74-70

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Hameed Ali scored a career-high 26 points, Rashawn Thomas added 23, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi outlasted Austin Peay 74-70 on Monday.

Ali had four assists and four steals, made 10 of 11 from the line and was 4 of 7 from beyond the arc as the Islanders (9-3) made 7 of 19 from deep. Thomas was 10 of 15 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds.

Austin Peay (6-8) was led by Khalil Davis with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Robinson had 16 points and Chris Horton added 11 points and eight boards.

Corpus Christi led 38-33 at the break, but a six-point spurt by the Governors tied it at 44. The Islanders used an 8-2 to turn a four-point lead into nine, but Davis' 3-point play trimmed it back to two with 3:40 to go.

Texas A&M-CC responded with an 8-2 run, including a 3-pointer by Jelani Currie, to ice it.
