Texas Southern two-sport star throws down must-see reverse dunk
Texas Southern is a favorite to come out of the SWAC again this season, as the Tigers are off to an 11-1 start in conference play.
One of the reasons why the Tigers are in line for a three-peat is because of the addition of Derrick Griffin, a 6-foot-7 freak athlete. On Monday night in a 79-72 win over Grambling State, Griffin proved his insane athleticism by throwing down this reverse alley-oop with ease.
Griffin ended the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds, his 12th double-double in 18 games. He is third on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game.
But here's the thing: basketball isn't even his best sport.
The Houston native was a heavily-recruited wideout coming out of high school, originally committing to Miami in 2013. However, he never qualified academically.
In his first college football season, Griffin had 36 receptions for 709 yards and 11 touchdowns.
