Toledo basketball manager put on scholarship
Every now and then, throughout the college basketball season, videos surface of walk-ons receiving scholarships. For example, seniors from both Pepperdine and Boston College were surprised with the free rides at the end of this past semester.
But what about the other unsung heroes of college basketball programs?
On Friday, Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk informed the team's head manager, Jacob Brehmer, that he had been put on scholarship.
Hard work pays off!! Was a pleasure to put our Head Mgr @jbrehmer33 on Full Scholarship! He is ROTC & the BEST!?? pic.twitter.com/rKUxuj3gFb

Along with the duties that comes with being a manager for a Division I team, Brehmer is also part of the University of Toledo Army ROTC.
I'm so beyond blessed. Thanks so much too @Coach_Kowalczyk @KyleBarlow4 and the rest of the staff. #blessed https://t.co/bMOBLLJ7BI
