Toledo defeats Marshall despite blowing 20-point lead

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Marreon Jackson scored with 3 seconds left in overtime and Toledo, which blew a 20-point second-half lead, defeated Marshall 75-74 on Saturday.

Toledo (9-1), winner of seven straight, was led by Jaelan Sanford's 20 points. Jackson scored 13 and Willie Jackson added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Marshall (5-3) was led by Jon Elmore with 21 points and CJ Burks scored 17. The senior guards average 46.3 percent of the Thundering Herd's scoring.

There were five lead changes in the final 1:31 of overtime, the last on Marreon Jackson's winning basket. Marshall turned the ball over on its final possession.

Toledo led 48-28 early in the second half before Marshall rallied. The Thundering Herd took the lead at 57-55 when Rondale Watson scored in the paint with 5:38 remaining.

Toledo had possession with 12 seconds left in regulation, trailing 65-62. After a pair of Toledo timeouts, Jaelan Sanford made a 3-pointer to tie it then blocked Elmore's 3-pointer to send the game to overtime.
