Tom Izzo thinks Spartans still could've won championship after loss to MTSU

Michigan State didn't just lose to Middle Tennessee State on Friday. The Spartans lost soundly.

The Spartans fell 90-81 to the Blue Raiders in a shocking, Round of 64 loss in Missouri-a defeat that will probably go down as one of — if not the — worst of Izzo's storied career.

But Izzo isn't taking his L and going softly into that good night. Rather, Michigan State's head coach doubled down after the game. His team might've been outplayed by a 15-seed team from Conference USA, but Izzo still thinks they were equipped to go all the way this year.

So, yeah. That's one way to look at it.

If they just hadn't lost that sneaky trap game against the team coached by a man named "Kermit," the Spartans could've really made some noise this year. Or something.

Dan is on Twitter. Losses have no bearing on reality, because...reasons.
