Towson holds off Fairleigh Dickinson 90-87 amid 57 fouls (Dec 10, 2016)
TOWSON, Md. (AP) Mike Morsell sank a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left to build a seven-point cushion and Towson held on to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson 90-87 on Saturday in a game that saw a combined 84 free throws.
Morsell and John Davis each scored 18 points to lead Towson (6-4), with Morsell shooting 12-for-16 at the foul line. Arnaud Adala Moto was 8-for-10 at the line and scored 14 points as the Tigers took advantage of 32 fouls to score 36 points on free throws.
Darian Anderson, who poured in a career-best 33 points, scored twice in the final 13 seconds to pull Fairleigh Dickinson (2-7) within three. Anderson made six 3-pointers. Stephan Jiggetts scored a season-high 25 points for the Knights and Earl Potts, Jr. added 13.
Fairleigh Dickinson converted 21 of 31 foul shots on 25 Towson fouls.
