Tulane's Frazier hires agent, foregoes remaining eligibility
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Tulane coach Mike Dunleavy says junior wing player Melvin Frazier has decided to hire an agent and forego his final year of college eligibility.
Frazier already had declared for the NBA draft, but could have withdrawn and returned to Tulane if he had not hired professional representation. Now Frazier has decided to formally turn pro.
Dunleavy says he enjoyed coaching Frazier and looks forward to seeing how he continues to develop as a pro. Draft analysts have widely projected Frazier as a late first-round or early second-round pick.
Last season, Frazier averaged 15.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.2 steals per game. He was named the most improved player in the American Athletic Conference and also was named second-team all-conference.
