Tyzilla Reports on Arkansas' Win Over Houston (Video)
Tyzilla is back to talk about Arkansas’ big 84-72 win over the number one three-point shooting Houston. The win moves the Hogs to 7-1 for the season.
I said the other day that Arkansas fans should celebrate the progression of this team and tonight was a big step. Arkansas hasn’t had much success in defending the three this season. When Houston came into Bud Walton leading the country in 3-pointers, I had a bad feeling. Then the Razorbacks came out and dominated with a strong half-court defense. This was the progress I was referring to.
The Hogs came out strong to beat a team that will probably make the NCAA tournament this season. This is to-date, the best win for the Razorbacks this season. Arkansas got up 14 points in the first half, however, because of turnovers and poor defense, fell to a 1 point deficit at halftime. Rather than let the Cougars carry the momentum, the Razorbacks banded together to stay in the fight and pull off a quality win.
Hannahs and Macon tied at 17 points for lead scoring for the Razorbacks. Kingsley put up 14 points and was one rebound away from a double-double with 9 rebounds. Overall the Hogs committed four more turnovers at 13 but outrebounded Houston 39-31.
Next up, Arkansas takes on North Florida at Bud Walton Arena on Saturday, December 10 at 4:30 pm. The game will be televised on the SEC Network and can be streamed from the WatchESPN app or online. Woo pig!
