UCLA Basketball: Lonzo Ball Named to Bob Cousy Award Watch List
Freshman UCLA Basketball player Lonzo Ball has been named to the 2017 Bob Cousy Award Watch List honoring the top point guard in the country.
He has not yet played a single minute of college basketball and UCLA Basketball super freshman Lonzo Ball is already expected to make a splash this season.
Ball was just named to a prestigious list of 20 players being recognized for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. This award is given to the best overall floor general in the nation and is given by the College of the Holy Cross.
Ball comes to the Bruins as a 5-star point guard out of Chino Hills High School. Per 247 Sports, he was the best overall player in California and the 3rd best player in the country.
Last season he won the California Gatorade Player of the Year Award and also got national recognition as the Naismith Player of the Year. He did this while leading Chino Hills to an undefeated season.
If you haven’t heard of Ball by now, chances are you have taken up residency under a rock. Ball has all the tools necessary for a point guard.
First and foremost, Ball is a team player. His exceptional basketball IQ, passing skills and floor vision make him one of the best point guards to join UCLA in a long time. Ball also knows how to work with his teammates and will elevate their game every second he is on the floor.
