UCLA Women's Basketball: Bruins Finish Non-Conference with Huge Win
The UCLA Women’s Basketball team made a huge statement on Tuesday morning as they defeated North Carolina A&T, 83-42. The Bruins now ready themselves for Pac-12 play.
What is the best way to shake off a loss? Annihilate your opponent by 41 points in your next game. That is exactly what the UCLA Women’s Basketball team did today as they defeated a helpless North Carolina A&T team by the score of 83-42.
The Bruins are coming off of a disappointing loss on Sunday to #6 South Carolina. Despite an early lead, UCLA could not stop USC in the second half. The Bruins lost that game 66-57.
UCLA took their frustrations out on the Aggies from the get go. The Bruins shot 54.4% from the field and 50% from behind the arc, hitting 9-of-18 threes.
North Carolina A&T was not as good as they shot 20% from the field (13/65). UCLA’s defense was all over the Aggies as the Bruins finished with a collective 11 steals and 8 blocks.
Five Bruins scored in double-digits with Kari Korver and Monique Billings netting a game-high 15 points. Jordin Canada finished with another double-double as she had 12 points and 10 assists.
The UCLA Women’s Basketball team finishes their non-conference schedule with a 9-2 record. So far this season, UCLA is 5-0 at Pauley Pavilion, 2-2 on the road and 2-0 in neutral sites.
