UConn guard pays fine to resolve on-campus scooter incident
VERNON, Conn. (AP) UConn guard Jalen Adams has paid a $50 fine to resolve the legal case stemming from an on-campus scooter crash earlier this month that also resulted in his one-game suspension from the team.
Adams originally was charged with misdemeanor evading responsibility after leaving the scene of the crash, which police said occurred while he and three others were racing scooters on a campus street on Nov. 8.
Prosecutors said Tuesday they reduced that charge to an infraction and court officials said Adams had paid the fine.
Coach Kevin Ollie held his star guard out of the team's season-opening win over Colgate. The junior scored 19 and 12 points in the two games since returning to the Huskies (3-0), who play Oregon on Thanksgiving night in the PK80 tournament in Portland.
